Last week was an incredible experience…For three days and two nights I was surrounded by talent. There were skilled turntablists, million dollar multi ops, and Mr. C randomly showed up and did the Cha Cha Slide! Amazing speakers at the seminars with not only great content, but relevant trends and predictions for the future. Some of the best talks happen in the hallway with complete strangers! We took over a local bar Tuesday night and several well known DJs like Chitown Shani and DJ Flipside mixed and scratched tracks! I felt motivated and inspired as I left the Chicago suburbs Wednesday evening to head back home ready to implement new ideas and knowledge gained. But, I didn’t JUST gain knowledge; I gained new connections with industry colleagues that I now call friends!
How I met Mike & Matt… I met Mike while riding in the hotel elevator. We were wearing the same shoes, similar shirts, and attending the same conference. He lives in Arizona but as we asked the typical “who are you, where you from” questions we quickly learned that I live in the town he grew up in! (a small Indiana rural community) What are the odds?!? We became instant friends sharing tips and tricks, music ideas, and personal stories. Mike’s love for music is evident and he was nice enough to share some of his favorite artists and music groups which helped expose me to new sounds. We even got a change to spin together in a “dueling DJ” setup! His personality is on his sleeve and doesn’t mind being the life of the party, or music festival. He would not shut up about Electric Forest and now I find myself already pricing tickets for next year…Thanks for that Mike.
I was introduced to Matt by Mike. They were sharing a room at the hotel and had known each other for a couple years after meeting at the Las Vegas Wedding MBA conference. Matt lives in Colorado and runs a large multi op entertainment company. He is a wealth of information and knowledge and I was able to watch him negotiate a rather large government activation for his business. This man’s work ethic and dedication is inspiring! He was constantly juggling the day to day operations of his company while attending a conference to further his education. Matt was going to visit family in Indiana after the expo and after talking we realized it was only 45 minutes away from where I live! So Matt and I rode back from the conference together which gave us about four hours of one on one conversation to bounce ideas off each other. It was humbling that he wanted to hear my “small” business issues and offer advice and guidance. Truly invaluable information.
I’m already looking forward to next year and can’t wait to see what the rest of this season brings! Some people get massages or go to the spa to refresh and rejuvenate… for me; it’s expos like this!

I would have given them 10 stars, they were absolutely incredible! David was the DJ at my wedding and he was so attentive to all our details. He kept guests engaged and wanting more. He became a huge part of our reception and we loved it. He taught our guests how to do group dances so everyone could be involved. I had a fabulous wedding reception and I thank Audio Inferno for being a part of it!
